The NEMG Community Outreach Committee (COC) once again proved its dedication and commitment to helping those in need, especially during the holiday season and colder months. Recognizing the continued demand for assistance in the New London and Westerly regions, COC members came together and proudly supported the annual coat drive for the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.

This year’s event, which ran from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1, 2020, was led by Minister Mary Rose, MA, and Rosalyn Aybar, MA, both from the Northeast Medical Group Multispecialty Center, New London. The collaborative collection yielded more than 100 warm items, including coats, mittens, sweaters and scarves, for patrons of the New London Homeless Hospitality Center.

“I am so pleased with the generosity of our staff during a time when our focus could easily be internalized,” said Kim Abell, clinical optimization specialist and COC lead for the New London region. “Our communities are experiencing a level of unprecedented need. I am so proud to be part of an organization and group of colleagues who recognize this and continue to give what they are able to.”

NEMG is dedicated to helping the communities it serves. For information about local events or to join the Community Outreach Committee, contact Robert Mitchell, 203-384-5109.
