D&I offers e-learning while in-person classes on hold

d and i

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion is committed to taking all precautionary measures regarding COVID-19 in an effort to keep our patients, employees and the community healthy and safe.

Until further notice, all in-person D&I classes are canceled. However, D&I is offering four electronic or “e-learn” classes that employees may take from their on-site or remote computers.

Additionally, continuing education credits are available to physicians, providers and social workers who complete any of the diversity and inclusion e-learn courses.

The D&I e-learn classes currently available are:

  • Gender Identity - shares what gender identity is and terms used to describe gender identity, how to ask patients to provide this information and how to capture the information in Epic
  • Anyone Can Be An Ally - examines issues facing LGBTQ employees and how behaviors can create an unwelcoming work environment
  • Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts - provides techniques and communications skills for promoting inclusion and respect in the workplace
  • Defeating Unconscious Bias - addresses hidden biases that can affect hiring, promoting and team building and thwart creating a fair and inclusive workplace

For full e-learn course descriptions and to register for e-learn classes, visit Infor, Learning Management System. With questions, contact Kwame Davenport, Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Consultant, at [email protected] or 203-502-6553.
