Employee flu vaccinations underway

employee flu vaccinations

YNHHS began rolling out the annual mandatory vaccination program last month. All employees and physicians, including those working remotely, must receive a flu vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of continued employment.

NEMG offices that typically self-vaccinate were permitted to provide vaccinations beginning the week of October 5. Additionally, on-site vaccinations provided by Occupational Medicine and Wellness Services also began in October throughout the health system.

Employees may schedule an on-site flu vaccination by logging into Infor, and selecting “Employee Health, Get Your Flu Vaccine” on the landing page. Employees are encouraged to sign up at a location closest to their work unit.

Employees may also obtain their flu shot from their primary care provider (PCP) or a participating pharmacy in the CVS Caremark vaccination network, which includes CVS and Walgreens among others, if enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan.

If employees are vaccinated at a CVS Caremark location or by a provider who is on Epic, documentation will be submitted to YNHHS automatically. If an employee receives a vaccination from a pharmacy or PCP that is not on Epic, they will need to submit documentation to YNHHS.

Details about all vaccination options, including how to submit documentation of vaccination by a PCP or pharmacy, are available on the Employee Self Service dashboard, accessible through Infor (See Employee Health, Flu Attestation on the Infor landing page.)

The deadline for employees to request a medical or religious exemption from receiving the flu vaccination was Sept. 30. (Employees who previously had a non-pregnancy related medical exemption did not need to submit another request.) The deadline for approval or denial of medical exemption requests was Oct. 31. Religious exemption requests were approved or denied by Nov. 16.

In addition to vaccination, all employees must complete the online flu module on the Infor Learning Management System (LMS).

The vaccination deadline for all employees and medical staff is Tuesday, Dec. 15.
