Cardiac Rehab expands hours
On Feb. 25, the Bridgeport Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation program expanded to five days a week and added a wellness component so people without a covered diagnosis can exercise in a structured setting overseen by nurses and exercise physiologists. The wellness patients are self-pay and receive education and help from the cardiac rehabilitation staff.
“This is a major advancement for our program,” said Steven Kunkes, MD, medical director of Cardiac Rehabilitation. (Cardiac Rehab and Wellness Manager) Joe Petreycik and his staff have been working hard to prepare for the expansion of the program and are to be congratulated for it.”
