NEMG News Decorated pumpkins from the competition at Northeast Medical Group Internal Medicine – Branford

October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there was no shortage of support across Northeast Medical Group. From weekly decorative treats to a Halloween-themed contest, pink was in abundance.

Staff from Northeast Medical Group Internal Medicine – Hamden dressed in pink every Friday throughout October. Additionally, delicious pink-colored treats, including cupcakes and cake pops, were shared and enjoyed among staff.

In the spirit of Halloween, staff members from Northeast Medical Group Internal Medicine - Branford held a pink pumpkin-decorating contest. Patients had the opportunity to vote for their favorites, and top honors went to Laura Trujillo, MA. The competition earned several compliments.

“Breast Cancer Awareness Month has always been very near and dear to us at NEMG Internal Medicine – Hamden,” said Melissa Kalfus, practice supervisor. “We wear pink every Friday and have tasty pink treats available for staff. Not only does it foster camaraderie, it’s a great conversation piece and segues into an opportunity to remind our patients of the importance of mammograms.”
