Community Outreach Committee Profile - February 2019

Robert Mitchell 2 peter logue

(l-r): Robert Mitchell and Peter Logue

This month, Northeast Medical Group recognizes two essential members of its Community Outreach Committee (COC): Robert Mitchell and Peter Logue.
Robert Mitchell is a practice operations manager for NEMG. His experience as former director for the Community Initiative at Brooklyn Hospital and chair of the NEMG COC made him a terrific choice to serve as the co-chair of the NEMG Diversity and Inclusion Council.

When asked about his outlook for 2019, he said “Our sole emphasis is to get diversity and inclusion’s action plan developed and implemented. We know this is going to be a process, but I’m excited about the folks who are taking the lead in the subcommittees within the community, talent acquisition and education.”

Peter Logue, vice president, Operations, and co-chair of the NEMG Diversity and Inclusion Council, has been with NEMG for 11 years and has been a valued COC member since its 2015 inception. Of the many programs he’s volunteered his time to, his favorite has always been NEMG’s annual Toys for Tots drive. Each year, NEMG partners with the United States Marine Corps to collect new, unwrapped toys. “The first year we participated it was incredible,” he said. “I was so surprised to see how many toys we collected, and I was very proud of our NEMG community.”

When asked what he finds most rewarding about working with the COC, he said “I enjoy the opportunity to give back, even in some small way to the community. I appreciate the camaraderie and teamwork that our community outreach efforts are based upon.”

The COC is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help the communities we serve. For information or to join, contact Robert Mitchell, 203-384-5109. Watch for more information on committee initiatives.
