Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, MPH, MHPE, MBA

President & CEO, Northeast Medical Group & Senior Vice President, YNHHS

Dr. Varkey is responsible for the strategic, operational, clinical and fiscal leadership of Northeast Medical Group. Prior to her current role, she was president and CEO of the Clinical Enterprise, a multispecialty group at Seton Family Healthcare, the largest health system in Austin, Texas. Dr. Varkey spent most of her career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where she was professor of medicine and preventive medicine and served in several leadership roles. A nationally recognized expert in quality improvement, she recently completed her term as president of the American College of Medical Quality. Dr. Varkey is the editor of two textbooks: Medical Quality Management: Theory and Practice, and the Mayo Clinic Preventive Medicine and Public Health Board Review

Dr. Varkey earned her MBBS (MD equivalent) from Christian Medical College in Vellore, India; internal medicine residency at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, Connecticut; and preventive medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She has a master's in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health, a master's in health professions education from the University of Illinois Chicago and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Richard Goldstein, MD, PhD, MHCM

Vice President, Chief Medical Officer

Before joining Northeast Medical Group, Dr. Goldstein was President of Central Maine Medical Group, and CMO of Central Main Healthcare. Previously, Dr. Goldstein was Vice Dean Clinical Affairs and endowed chair of Surgical Endocrinology at the University of Louisville. Dr. Goldstein received his Bachelors from Amherst College and attended Medical School at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He obtained his PhD in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and his Masters in Health Care Management from the Harvard University School of Public Health.

 

Arnold DoRosario, MD

Vice President, Chief Population Health Officer

Prior to joining Northeast Medical Group, Dr. DoRosario served as Medical Director for PriMed, focusing on implementing policies, procedures and best practices among the group. Dr. DoRosario received his medical degree from Universidad De Navarra, Facultad De Medicina, Pamplona, Spain and is board certified in both geriatrics and internal medicine. He completed his residency and internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center of Bridgeport.

Peter Logue, FACHE

Vice President, Operations

Before joining Northeast Medical Group, Peter Logue was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Mill Hill Medical Consultants, the Bridgeport Hospital-based group practice, and Director and Vice President of Practice Management for ProHealth Physicians primary care group practice. He received his BS in political science from the University of Vermont and his MHA from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University.

Keith Tandler

Vice President, Finance

Keith Tandler is the lead finance executive for Northeast Medical Group and holds primary responsibility for budget, revenue cycle, accounting, compensation, tax and other finance functions. Prior to his appointment at Northeast Medical Group, he has held senior finance leadership roles within Yale New Haven Health. His professional experience prior to joining Yale New Haven includes Mount Sinai Health System, where he served as a finance director and Ernst & Young, where he managed audit and merger and acquisition transaction support engagements within the healthcare industry. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. Keith is a certified public accountant and holds an MBA in finance and management from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Aimee Derry, MHA

Executive Director, Business Development

Aimee Derry is responsible for clinician recruitment, mergers and acquisitions, clinician onboarding, facilities, business development, and innovation. She also provides operational leadership over Northeast Medical Group and Yale Medicine collaborations. Aimee joined Northeast Medical Group in 2011 as Director of Practice Operations. In that role, she led operations in the New Haven region, oversaw the walk-in medical centers and directed the group’s access initiatives.  Prior to joining Northeast Medical Group, she served as Director of Operations at Hartford Medical Group and Executive Director of Connecticut Medical Group.  She received her BS in Management from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, and her MHA from Clark University in Worcester, MA.

Christine Hines

Executive Director, Operations

Chris Hines leads practice operations in the Bridgeport Region. Prior to joining Northeast Medical Group in 2014, Christine was the Director of Operations and Account Manager at MED3000/McKesson in Shelton, CT. She received her BS in Healthcare Management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.

Robert Dickman

Director, Regional Practice Operations

Robert Dickman leads practice operations in the New Haven Region and oversees Northeast Medical Group's walk-in centers. Prior to joining Northeast Medical Group, Robert was the Executive Director at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT and was responsible for the Franklin Medical Group and Outpatient Services.  A veteran of the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps, Robert received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut and his MBA from Baker College in Flint, MI. He is board certified by the American College of Medical Practice Executives and is a senior member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.

Candise Smith

Director, Regional Practice Operations

Candise Smith is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Northeast Medical Group practices in the Greenwich and Westchester region. She also supports Northeast Medical Group physicians based at Greenwich Hospital. Candise started in January 2009 as Supervisor of Practice Operations and led the successful onboarding and management of a number of Northeast Medical Group sites. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at Hampton University in Hampton, VA, and she received her MBA from the Jack Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.

Rick Coppola

Director, Regional Practice Operations

Rick Coppola is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Northeast Medical Group practices in the New London, CT and Westerly, RI regions. He has been a key member of the Northeast Medical Group operations team since 2012 and has successfully on-boarded a number of practices as well as taken the lead on Northeast Medical Group's initiatives related to supply chain. Rick received both his bachelor of science degree in biology/pre-medicine, and his MBA in health care management from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. He is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) accredited through the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and a High Reliability Organization (HRO) trainer.

Kathleen Madden

Executive Director, Accountable Care Organization/Value Based Programs

Kathleen Madden has created the infrastructure and leads a multidisciplinary team enabling Northeast Medical Group to focus diligently on population health. Kathy also provides oversight to quality and patient experience programs. Prior to joining Northeast Medical Group in 2017, she was vice president of delivery system partnerships and strategic initiatives at ConnectiCare in Farmington, CT.
