Dr. Akhter is a board-certified internal medicine physician who treats adults with a patient-centered, comprehensive approach. She is passionate about helping her patients reach their goals when it comes to their health and well-being. She focuses on a holistic model of care which emphasizes shared decision-making with her patients. Dr. Akhter is trained in treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. She graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine with honors and completed her residency at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL where she also served as Chief Resident in her final year.
