Mina Owlia, MD, a board-certified cardiologist, is known for her thoughtful communication style and collaborative approach, partnering closely with patients and referring physicians to deliver individualized, evidence-based care designed to optimize long-term heart health. Dr. Owlia specializes in non-invasive cardiology and cardiac imaging, including women’s heart health, electrocardiograms, nuclear cardiology and stress testing, with a wealth of experience in transesophageal echocardiograms.
Dr. Owlia earned her bachelor’s and medical degrees from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Owlia completed her fellowship in cardiovascular disease at New York University, serving as chief fellow during the final year of training. She has been practicing in Stamford since 2017 seeing patients throughout Fairfield County from Stratford to Darien, New Canaan, Stamford and Greenwich. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Heart Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two young boys, running, and playing tennis and violin.
Dr. Owlia is board-certified in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), in echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) and in nuclear medicine by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). She is fluent in Spanish, proficient in Italian and conversational in Farsi.
