Gregory N. Soloway, MD

Gregory Soloway, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist, is a senior member of Northeast Medical Group, joining in 1992 under Gastroenterology Associates. Dr. Soloway earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Brown University, where he was also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honors organization. After earning his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, Dr. Soloway completed his internship, residency and served an additional year as medical chief resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he received the Davidoff Award for excellence in teaching. He was privileged to complete his gastroenterology (GI) and hepatology fellowship training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City under the tutelage of Drs. Larry Brandt and Les Bernstein.

Dr. Soloway has attended at Bridgeport Hospital since 1992, where he has held several leadership roles. As a member of Northeast Medical Group and the Yale New Haven Health System, Dr. Soloway is currently serving on the peer review committee, systems endoscopy committee, medical leadership advisory panel, and is a key clinical faculty member for the GI fellowship training program and chairperson of the endoscopy subcommittee. He has been recognized as a top doctor by Connecticut Magazine and Castle Connolly every year for more than a decade. Dr. Soloway is a frequent lecturer at Bridgeport Hospital and the community and has co-authored numerous articles in the medical literature.

Dr. Soloway is a lifelong learner, always wanting a career that would include both clinical patient care and teaching. He was drawn to a career in gastroenterology because the subspecialty is so varied. Dr. Soloway has derived professional satisfaction from providing care to both inpatients and outpatients, providing preventative and acute care for patients with a wide spectrum of GI and liver diseases, and performing screening and complex upper and lower endoscopic procedures, including capsule endoscopy and BRAVO pH monitoring. He treats the full range of GI and liver disease, with special interest in colon cancer screening and prevention, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Dr. Soloway spends time every week teaching students, residents and the Bridgeport Hospital GI fellows.

A native New Yorker, Dr. Soloway has traveled widely and enjoys spending time in New York City and Cape Cod with his family. He is a lover of books, exercise, music, and podcasts and is a game, albeit largely unsuccessful, gardener.

Dr. Soloway has offices in Stratford, Trumbull, Westport, and Fairfield. He performs procedures at Bridgeport Hospital and the Park Avenue Medical Center ambulatory care site. Dr. Soloway is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and is accepting new patients.
