Sanjiv Gollakota, DO, MPH, a board-certified internal medicine physician. Dr. Gollakota enjoys partnering with his patients to empower them to make their best decisions. He takes pride in finding solutions for patients experiencing unknown causes (the undifferentiated disease). A diverse patient population, from young adults to the aging young, brings meaning to his life. Dr. Gollakota also takes pride in diagnosing and managing hypertension, type 2 diabetes, including insulin management, high cholesterol and various other chronic diseases. He often sees and enjoys caring for the elderly (aging young) who may need cognitive screenings or management of multiple chronic conditions or are frail.

Dr. Gollakota earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) and completed his residency at Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. His residency program gave extraordinary independence to practice medicine at the patient’s bedside, training independently from admission to discharge at various hospital facilities, including the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Hamot Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Gollakota also has a degree in public health from West Virginia University (WVU) and a master’s degree in medical education. He particularly appreciates his educational background to help explain complex medical diagnoses to his patients.

Dr. Gollakota is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP). In his free time, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with his wife, son and two rescue cats and two rescue dogs.
