Bensson V. Samuel, MD, PhD, Ed.D.

Bensson Samuel, MD, PhD, DBA, Ed.D, a board-certified hospitalist and neuro-intensivist, enjoys providing evidence-based care with compassion and empathy. Dr. Samuel’s primary interests include internal medicine, neurocritical care, infectious diseases and public health. He earned his doctorate from Poznan University of Medical Sciences along with two post-graduate diplomas, one in gastroenterology from Queen Mary’s University in the United Kingdom, and the other in infectious disease from New South Wales University in Australia. He earned his doctorate degrees in education from Universidad Católica San Antonio and health care management from Universidad Panamericana, a doctorate in business administration from the Swiss School of Business and Administration and a master’s degree in public health from Wolverhampton University in the United Kingdom. Dr. Samuel completed his internship and residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Pennsylvania and a fellowship in neurocritical care from the Detroit Medical Center.

Dr. Samuel’s highlights include being an adjunct professor at Central Michigan University, honorary clinical professor at Walden University, chancellor at UniLogos University and combat field physician in the United States Army. He is board-certified in internal medicine and neurocritical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and in neurocritical care by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties (UCNS). Dr. Samuel is also certified in public health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE), infection prevention by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC), is qualified in apheresis by the American Board of Clinical Pathology (ABPath) and is a diplomate of the American Board of Quality and Utilization Review (ABQAURP).
