Throughout August, Northeast Medical Group practices from the Ambulatory East Region collected supplies to help schools in surrounding communities.
This year’s drive benefited Winthrop School in New London, Sacred Heart School in Groton, Montville Public Schools and Dunn’s Corner School in Westerly, RI. Four large boxes containing notebooks, pencils, rulers, erasers, note cards, and arts and crafts supplies were provided to each school.
“In recent years, funding for teachers to purchase classroom supplies has significantly decreased,” said Cristin Gill, practice supervisor, East Region. “This year’s drive was a tremendous success. Not only were students provided with the essential tools they need to learn, they also saw that their community believes in their potential.”
