On Sept. 7, Westerly Hospital sponsored the Surftown Half Marathon Relay and 5K at Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, RI.
The annual event is a scenic beach race designed to promote health and fitness and foster a sense of community. Community Outreach Committee members from the East Region ran a YNHHS information and swag table. They also held the finish line tape for the winners of the half marathon and 5K.
“The half marathon and 5K are more than just races,” said Cristin Gill, supervisor, Ambulatory Operations East. “They are a demonstration of community strength, with every step taken building healthier and stronger lives.”
