Serving dinner recently at the New London Homeless Hospitality Center were (l-r): NEMG’s Jessenia Perez and Aida Torres, medical assistants; Charles Walcott, MD; and Maria Garcia, supervisor, Ambulatory Operations, East Region.

NEMG Community Outreach Committee (COC) members recently prepared dinner for approximately 20 New London Homeless Hospitality Center residents. Each month, volunteers develop a menu, purchase groceries and provide a warm meal at the Center, a place of safety and welcome to adults facing homelessness in southeastern Connecticut.

“Serving the meals has been more than just a volunteer opportunity – it’s a reminder of the power of kindness, connection and community,” said Maria Garcia, supervisor, Ambulatory Operations, East Region. “Sharing a meal is about so much more than food. It’s about dignity, hope and showing our neighbors that they matter.”
