New Haven, CT (March 8, 2022) – Yale New Haven Health has committed to donate $1 million in medical supplies to the people of Ukraine through the U.S. Cooperative for International Patient Programs. The organization provides all logistics and cover the cost of transportation to Europe.
The humanitarian crisis grows more dire each day, and for those with friends and family in Ukraine experiencing the crisis, these are particularly difficult times. There is no doubt that the people living in Ukraine need support. By providing a large amount of personal protective gear, such as surgical masks, gowns, gloves and N95 masks, we hope to help those caring for the injured stay safe and healthy. The medical staffs at each of our delivery networks, in collaboration with the Yale School of Medicine, will also be making donations to an agency focused on humanitarian efforts related to the conflict.
“Yale New Haven Health has supported many people and countries in times of crisis, like hurricanes and natural disasters,” said Christopher O’Connor, president, Yale New Haven Health. “We employ staff from the Ukraine and all feel very strongly that we want to do whatever is in our power to support the people and the nation from this atrocity.” Yale New Haven Health will continue to seek ways to support relief efforts that align with our mission.
