NEMG welcomes physicians of Connecticut Medical Group

11/15/2012 — Northeast Medical Group (NEMG), the physician practice of the Yale New Haven Health System, has announced that Connecticut Medical Group has joined NEMG.

Connecticut Medical Group (CMG), the largest internal medicine practice in the New Haven area, has 30 providers in 15 offices in Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, New Haven and Woodbridge. The physicians are affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital.

"The physicians and staff of Connecticut Medical Group are delighted to announce our affiliation with NEMG," said Richard J. Mangi, MD, MBA, and president of CMG. "Our goal has always been to provide our patients with the highest quality medical care. Healthcare delivery is rapidly evolving from isolated physician offices, hospitals and walk-in centers into seamless efficient integrated systems that provide cost-efficient quality care. We CMG physicians are proud to be early adopters of this new healthcare paradigm, and look forward to helping to build the future healthcare system in New Haven."

"CMG is a large and reputable internal medicine group and we believe these physicians will serve as the cornerstone of our efforts to establish a primary care network in the New Haven area," said Robert Nordgren, MD, chief executive officer, NEMG.

As part of the group's full-service approach, the various locations have onsite medical laboratory and testing facilities including ultrasound, cardiac stress testing and scans for osteoporosis.

Part of Yale New Haven Health System, Northeast Medical Group is a not-for-profit multi-specialty medical foundation, with more than 550 physicians and medical professionals.

Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), part of Yale New Haven Health, is a nationally recognized, 1,541-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving as the primary teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM). Founded as the fourth voluntary hospital in the U.S. in 1826, today, YNHH has two New Haven-based campuses, and also includes Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital. YNHH has received Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the nation’s highest honor of nursing excellence.
