Northeast Medical Group celebrates opening of new multispecialty center in Westport

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

WESTPORT, CT (Oct. 31, 2018) – Westport area residents have access to a range of new and enhanced medical services, with the opening of the Northeast Medical Group Multispecialty Center at 327 Riverside Avenue.

Nearly 100 guests were on hand for an October 30 ribbon-cutting ceremony, including Westport Second Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker and other local and state officials, as well as Northeast Medical Group and Yale New Haven Health leaders.

“We are thrilled to expand our ability to care for existing patients and new ones here in our fully renovated multispecialty center in Westport,” said Richard Goldstein, MD, chief medical officer, Northeast Medical Group.

The Northeast Medical Group Multispecialty Center is located in a two-story building, recently remodeled to house the family medicine offices of Steven Benaderet, MD, and his practice partners Jaime Leahy, MD, and Amanda Zygmant, APRN. Since 2011, the practice, Northeast Medical Group Family Medicine of Westport, was located in smaller quarters at 129 Kings Highway. Growth of the practice led Northeast Medical Group and Dr. Benadaret to seek a more spacious office.

Dr. Benadaret and his partners will be joined at the center in the near future by Northeast Medical Group specialty physicians, who will hold office hours on various days each week. Another on-site service that makes the Westport center more convenient for patients is a blood draw and lab station operated by Bridgeport Hospital.

“Northeast Medical Group is an important part of Yale New Haven Health and continues to grow throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and Westchester County. This new facility is an example of our vision of delivering patient-centered, coordinated care” said Chris O’Connor, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Yale New Haven Health.

Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) is a not-for-profit multispecialty medical foundation established in 2010. NEMG integrates physicians across Yale New Haven Health and helps provide more coordinated, comprehensive, safe and high quality health care for patients across the entire continuum – primary, specialty, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitative and preventive care. NEMG represents more than 120 locations and 835 physicians and medical professionals affiliated with Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, Westerly and Yale New Haven hospitals. www.northeastmedicalgroup.org
