YNHH Heroes Class of 2022 honored

Friends and families joined leaders and colleagues to honor the latest class of Yale New Haven Hospital Heroes during a ceremony in the Park Street auditorium recently. Keith Churchwell, MD, president, introduced each honoree and Michael Holmes, chief operating officer, together with Tina Bennett, chief experience officer, YNHHS, presented each honoree with a framed version of their Heroes poster.

The event was a hybrid format, allowing a small group to join the honorees in-person while others watched virtually via Zoom.

“Each of you is known in the hospital for the compassion and caring you show patients and their families, visitors, community members and even your colleagues each day,” Dr. Churchwell said. “You were chosen because you put the Yale New Haven behaviors and values into practice every day. Your posters will remind us that excellent service should always be our individual and collective goal.”

Launched in 2007, the Heroes program recognizes employees, physicians or volunteers who deeply embody the health system’s values and go above and beyond to exemplify the Standards of Professional Behavior in their interactions with patients, clients, colleagues and visitors. Each Hero is nominated by their peers.
