The cart departs

After more than two decades ferrying patients from hospital entrances to elevators, physician offices and other locations, the Saint Raphael Campus golf cart made its final run earlier this month. As part of renovations at the SRC, first-floor corridors will be narrowed, which would have made it difficult for the cart to maneuver. Four to six patients and visitors per hour rode the cart each day, mostly from the George Street Garage entrance. Not to worry. Additional volunteers and wheelchairs are available to help patients and visitors get where they need to go – on two wheels vs. four.
