Marna P. Borgstrom, YNHHS president and CEO, received the 2019 President’s Award from the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC) recently. The President’s Award is presented to the individual who, through their leadership, has made a significant contribution to the GNEMSDC and to minority business development.
The GNEMSDC noted that under Marna’s leadership, YNHHS has been one of the leaders in Connecticut with respect to diversity and inclusion and supplier diversity, and that the health system has been a steadfast supporter of GNEMSDC.
The Greater England Minority Supplier Development Council is one of 23 regional councils that operates under the auspices of the National Minority Supplier Development Council. GNEMSDC, which has been in existence over 45 years, is focused on minority business development, economic inclusion, and closing the racial wealth gap.
