Community Outreach Committee Profile - October 2018
Matt Matera and Stephanie Beauton
This month, Northeast Medical Group recognizes two essential members of its Community Outreach Committee (COC): Matt Matera and Stephanie Beauton.
Matt Matera, a business development specialist, began working for NEMG in 2017 and has been active in COC programs since the beginning of this year. His support was instrumental in the success of the first-ever NEMG community health fair to raise awareness about preventive health care and NEMG’s specialty services. An avid bicyclist, he participated in the 2018 Closer to Free Ride. “I’ve always been involved with community service,” he said. “From local town organizations, to my children’s activities, working with the COC was a natural progression for me and a great fit.”
Stephanie Beauton, an operations manager for the New Haven region has been with NEMG since 2016 and during that time has been a valued member of the COC. In addition to her work with the backpack initiative for the Youth Continuum, she has volunteered her time with the Ronald McDonald House meal program, NEMG’s annual coat drive and the Toys for Tots collection. “I enjoy having the opportunity make a difference in someone else’s life,” she said. “Giving back to the communities we serve is a fantastic way to fill my need to make a difference.”
The COC is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help the communities we serve. For information or to join, contact Robert Mitchell, 203-384-5109. Watch for more information on committee initiatives.
