Health Information Management wins national award

Yale New Haven Health has earned the American Health Information Management Association’s highest honor, the 2018 Grace Award, which recognizes excellence in health information management (HIM). The award honors organizations for strong data governance and innovative use of health data analytics. YNHHS’ HIM department was recognized for extensive efforts in coding and clinical documentation improvement; business analytics to support clinical, financial and operational decisions; patient engagement; and implementing an enterprise information governance program. The award, presented Sept. 24 at the AHIMA annual convention in Miami, is named for AHIMA founder Grace Whiting Meyers.
