With Thanksgiving around the corner, I want to take the opportunity to thank you for the incredible care you provide to our patients and communities. This past fiscal year, we saw more than one million outpatient visits and over 300,000 inpatient visits. Additionally, across NEMG, we were ranked in the 94th percentile in our ambulatory patient engagement scores. Last month, we opened the first phase of our exciting Rye Brook Multispecialty Center and welcomed new physicians to the area.

NEMG and ITS come together at Hawley Lane

On October 12, Northeast Medical Group and Yale New Haven Health Information Technology Services celebrated the opening of their new office space at 99 Hawley Lane in Stratford. NEMG officially moved its administrative offices to a newer, expanded suite on the first floor, and consolidated many of its teams throughout the region to the building’s second and third floors.

NEMG celebrates the opening of a multispecialty practice at Park Avenue

On October 5, Northeast Medical Group celebrated the grand opening of a new multispecialty practice at the Park Avenue Medical Center. This new location brings together primary and specialty care providers, with board certifications in internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, sleep medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Philip J. McWhorter honored by Greenwich Hospital

On October 21, Dr. Philip McWhorter, MD, FACS, received the President’s Award at the annual Gala for Greenwich Hospital in recognition of his 40 years of service to the hospital and the community. Dr. McWhorter served as chief of medical staff in the early 1990s, and has been the director of the Department of Surgery since 1997.

NEMG Community Outreach Committee lends a hand at the Groton Senior Center

On September 29, three members of the Northeast Medical Group Community Outreach Committee – Alberto Charles, PSA2, of Stonington Internal and Family Medicine; Liz Dubois, MA, of Niantic Internal and Family Medicine; and Kim Abell, Clinical Optimization Specialist of the Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island region – took part in a pilot program with the Groton Senior Center.

Community Outreach Committee completes backpack drive

The Community Outreach Committee recently completed its annual backpack drive. The team collected 84 backpacks and hygienic items for the Youth Continuum, an organization that works with homeless and at-risk teenagers and young adults.
