Community Outreach Committee Profile - June 2018
(l-r) Tameeka Parks and Judith Stovall
This month, Northeast Medical Group spotlights two key members of its Community Outreach Committee (COC): Tameeka Parks and Judith Stovall.
Tameeka Parks: Tameeka Parks, a practice supervisor, has worked for NEMG for four years and has been an active member of the COC since its inception in 2015. In addition to her work with the Ronald McDonald House dinner program, she’s also partnered with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission as part of NEMG’s annual coat drive. Acting as a personal shopper for the people of the Bridgeport community, she helped to provide coats and additional warm clothing for those in need. “I like doing my part in giving back,” she said. “I’m very proud to be a member of the COC and I value the opportunity it provides to see how volunteer work can impact the lives of so many people.”
Judith Stovall: As a practice supervisor, Judith Stovall has been with NEMG for six years and has also been an involved member of the COC since its beginning. She’s volunteered for numerous programs including: NEMG’s annual Thanksgiving food drive, the backpack initiative for the Youth Continuum and the annual Toys for Tots collection. “Community outreach is my way to contribute to the common good,” she said. “It’s our responsibility to help one another and embrace diversity. Volunteerism has helped me to grow and gain new perspectives, and it makes me feel good.”
The COC is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help the communities we serve. If you are interested in joining, please contact Christine Hines, 203-502-6508. Watch for more information on committee initiatives.
