Employees and families gather for Heart Walk and first annual picnic
On May 6, Northeast Medical Group employees and family members came together at Savin Rock in West Haven to give to a good cause and have some fun at the American Heart Association's Greater New Haven Heart Walk. The morning began overcast, but it did not dampen the spirits of the approximately 90 walkers who came to represent Team NEMG. Led by Jessica Walsh, NEMG raised $7,746, making it the top earning team at the walk and far surpassing its $2,500 goal. NEMG was joined by walkers from Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine, both sponsors of the event.
Following the walk, co-workers and family members stayed to enjoy the afternoon sun and the first annual NEMG Employee and Family Picnic. Approximately 250 picnic-goers enjoyed a variety of delicious food and fun games and activities for all ages. NEMG Real Estate Transaction Specialist Jack Lynch's band, C-Sides, kept the party going with great live music and entertainment. The event was met with great enthusiasm and excitement by all who attended.
"Today was a great day, and it exemplifies the spirit and teamwork of NEMG. Supporting the communities we serve is paramount, and there was no better way to celebrate our accomplishments than by coming together for our first annual picnic. Special thanks to Jessica Walsh, Robert Mitchell, the Community Outreach Committee and everyone who organized and participated in today's activities for your hard work and dedication," said Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, NEMG president and CEO.
