Sheila Marrero, MA
This month, Northeast Medical Group recognizes a valued member of its Diversity and Inclusion Council: Sheila Marrero, MA.
Sheila Marrero, an MA, has worked for NEMG for nearly two years. Since 2019, she’s volunteered her time to several Community Outreach Committee and diversity and inclusion programs. In October 2019, she was involved with the Safe Futures Annual 4K Safety Walk – a two-and-a-half-mile trek throughout the Crystal Mall in Waterford, CT. Marrero, and fellow volunteers greeted registrants, passed out Safe Futures t-shirts and also participated in the 4K to help raise money toward sheltering women and children from domestic violence.
Most recently, she organized the logistics behind delivering medication and supplies to those affected by the recent earthquakes in Puerto Rico. Watch for more information in upcoming newsletters.
“Helping others makes me feel blessed,” she said. “Serving the community fuels my soul, and I feel it’s important to give back so much of what God has given me.”
