Greenwich Hospital to offer new medical weight loss program

Beginning March 22, the Center for Behavioral and Nutritional Health at Greenwich Hospital will host a 12-week comprehensive medical weight-loss program. Sessions will be on Thursdays from 5 to 6 pm.

Through a combination of group and individual treatment, a team of registered dietitians, psychologists and endocrinologists will provide scientifically supported strategies for long-term weight management, including nutritional guidance, behavior change and prescription medication. They will work with participants to create achievable goals and develop individualized nutritional, fitness and medication plans.

Topics covered will include:

  • Understanding nutritional labels and tracking calories
  • Learning about changes in your metabolism and weight over time
  • Healthy meal planning for weight loss
  • Appetite awareness and changing unhealthy habits that sabotage success
  • Staying motivated and overcoming barriers to change
  • Evaluation for medication

Registration and initial assessments are required and most insurance is accepted. To register or for more information, please call 203-863-2939.
