Community Outreach Committee Profile – February 2018
(l-r): Cindy Georgette and Lisa Kesselmark
This month, Northeast Medical Group would like to profile two key members of its Community Outreach Committee (COC), whose efforts have been invaluable to our communities: Cindy Georgette and Lisa Kesselmark.
Cindy Georgette has been a practice supervisor for NEMG for over two years and in that time has also been an important member of the COC. She is also an adjunct professor at St. Vincent’s College.
When asked what she finds most rewarding about working with the COC, she said “It’s all about the people I serve with. Everyone’s ideas are important and we work together as a team to strive towards a common goal.” That mindset led her to great success in collecting several hundred coats for the Bridgeport, Greenwich, New Haven and New London communities as part of the 2017 annual NEMG Coat Drive.
As an operations manager for the Bridgeport region, overseeing cardiac specialist offices, Lisa Kesselmark has been with NEMG for more than six years and has been an active member of the COC since its establishment in 2015. In that time, she’s spearheaded NEMG’s annual Toys for Tots drive, in partnership with the United States Marine Corps. This year’s initiative gathered over 1,100 toys for needy children in the Bridgeport, Greenwich, New Haven and Stamford communities.
When asked why she enjoys working with the COC, she said “My own family is heavily involved in charity work. The COC is a fantastic opportunity to see how we can affect the community first-hand. You get so much more than what you put into it, and that’s a great feeling.”
The COC is instrumental in carrying out NEMG’s mission to help out the communities we serve. The committee is seeking new members. If you are interested, please contact Robert Mitchell at 203-384-5109. Watch for more information on their initiatives.
