Kwame Davenport
This month, Northeast Medical Group recognizes a valued member of its Community Outreach Committee (COC): Kwame Davenport.
Davenport, diversity and inclusion strategic consultant, Diversity Programs, began working for NEMG in 2014 and has been a COC member since its 2015 inception. Of the numerous programs he’s volunteered his time to, his favorite has always been NEMG’s backpack initiative for the Youth Continuum – a nonprofit organization in New Haven that provides supportive services to youths who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. “At the inaugural event, we received tremendous support from our colleagues and were able to donate 130 backpacks and hygienic supplies to the organization,” he said.
When asked what he enjoys most about working with the COC, he said, “For me it’s about being able to impact change in our local communities. We’re giving back and showing a level of care and concern that is lacking in the world today.”
