NEMG employees honored at first annual recognition dinner

On Nov. 28, Northeast Medical Group honored its employees at the first ever Employee Recognition Dinner, held at the Waterview in Monroe, CT.

Prathibha Varkey, MBBS, NEMG president and CEO, who opened the evening, conveyed that she was proud of the amazing teamwork from staff and feedback from patients over the past year. Noting that the event was held around Thanksgiving, she said “I want to give thanks for the incredible service that NEMG employees provide to both our communities and patients.”

Marna Borgstrom, YNHHS CEO, keynote speaker for the event, also praised the efforts of NEMG employees, explaining that “our focus as a health system is to provide unparalleled value to the people we are privileged to serve.”

Aimee Derry, executive director, NEMG business development, presented individual recognition to those celebrating years of service ranging from five years all the way to 45 years.

Arnold DoRosario, MD, NEMG chief medical officer; Robert McLean, MD, medical director of clinical quality; and Kathleen Bonaventura, DNP, APRN-BC, commended advanced practice clinicians and physicians from each region for their high patient satisfaction and quality scores.

Additionally Peter Logue, NEMG vice president of operations, and Rhonda Way, patient experience coordinator, presented all of the STAR Award winners from both 2016 and 2017 with a video tribute courtesy of James Fountain.

 “It is well known that employee and physician satisfaction are closely correlated with patient satisfaction,” said Rhonda Way, employee recognition committee chair.” Our employees work hard every day, our patient satisfaction scores are extremely high, and this event recognized their efforts. With the help of the recognition committee and senior leadership support, we were able to put this event together, and I couldn’t be more proud to work for NEMG.”
