Community Outreach Committee hosts volunteer meal program at Ronald McDonald House
The Northeast Medical Group Community Outreach Committee (COC) hosted their inaugural volunteer meal program at the Ronald McDonald House in New Haven, CT on Dec. 5, 2017. COC members prepared, cooked and served the dinner for roughly 40-45 children and their families. This program provides a much needed service to families who are supporting their sick children and don’t often have the time, financial means or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal.
David Mazzariello, operations manager and COC member, said, “This event provides members of our Community Outreach Committee the opportunity to support a wonderful organization, serving the critical needs of children and their families. As representatives of Northeast Medical Group, we are humbled to have established this relationship and look forward to working hand-in-hand with the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut for years to come.”
Since 1974, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) has created programs worldwide that keep families together while they face the challenge of their lives – having a sick child receive life-saving care in a hospital far away from home. RMHC has created over 350 Ronald McDonald Houses around the world providing a “home away from home” to support these families during difficult times. The RM House of CT has welcomed and provided assistance and care to over 10,000 families.
